A big thanks to all who worked to put this website together.
You did a great job and what a wonderful way to catch up on everyone.

Great idea. Unfortunatlly I cant make the reunion, prior commitments(work schedule ie: emergency response job for Ronald Reagan Airport in D. C. short on people) but would dearly love to hear from ya all. At some point I will get out to Washington to say Hi!!!!!!!

Hi Everybody, I just discovered this page and I've looked at this website a hundred times. What fun to read. Your reunion committee is working hard to make this a great time; if you are sitting on the fence debating whether or not to come because it's been so long since you've seen some of us, etc. etc. PLEASE believe me - it's so much fun to see each other and visit. Every committee meeting is like a mini reunion making it very evident to all of us how important reunions are. Here we are in our 60's and we all share this unique bond of a class, a small town, a school childhood. Please come and realize what we have discovered...we're neat people who genuinely like each other, and it's fun!

Thanks to all the committee for great work on the reunion. I am soooo disappointed that I can't get out of this commitment on Aug 30 but have enjoyed this awesome website. I hope to be around for the next one and if I am , you can bet I won't let anything keep me from seeing you then. I have just spent a whole day reading and catching up with friends. I hope more of them decide to update their profiles in the days to come. It is inspiring to see the difference our class has made in this world. Well done!!!

I received this email on 1 July 2008 from Renie Favre (Irene Emsley) and thought it was worth sharing.

Hi Dan, I am due for a visit to Shelton, so I will be there!
Yes, Ted and I are living our dream. We have 38 little ones we take care of and pay a staff of 40 to help us all by faith, ( we believe for $20,000.00 per month in donations. ) We believe God loves these kids more than we do and that He will touch the hearts of those who want to donate to their welfare. God has been faithful for over 17 years of taking care of abandoned profoundly handicapped and HIV/aides affected babies. We love what we are doing and that makes it even more rewarding. This year we bought our first home ever. We consider Mexico our home. We have an internet phone, so there are no international charges to call us at our San Diego area code 619 407 7499. Our San Ysidro , California address is only a PO box. We live full time in Mexico 12 miles South of Ensenada in the dusty little village of Maneadero on the Baja Penninsula. A courier brings us our mail.
We encourage anyone who wants an adventure to come and meet our kids. They are wonderful and funny and courageous. I defy anyone who meets them to be unhappy. Meeting them will change your life forever. From Shelton it is a 26 hour non-stop drive, (we have made it several times). Flight time takes about four hours from Sea/tac to San Diego where we will be glad to meet you and get you across the border, and down to Maneadero.(cooperation with gasoline cost kindly accepted), With advanced planning, we have a one bedroom apartment available for the cost of utilities, (roughly $15.00 per day). Some people like the idea of spending a week or two giving of themselves.
Ted likes to take the men on a fishing trip . Baja offers some of the best fishing in the world. We pay for the trip because the fish goes to the kids and we have never gone without getting about 100 to 150 pounds of fillet, of Dorado, white bass, red snapper, and bonita . We let the fishermen take enough for their family for dinner, or we just have a giant fish fry the next day, and invite all the fishermen and families, and freeze the rest for the kids. It is a win/win situation because we can’t buy the fish as cheap as we can catch it ourselves. This goes along with Ted’s plan to come to Baja and , in his word’s,”Fish and Mish”.
We live an almost idyllic life. We are giving of ourselves to kids who would probably not otherwise, survive. We have the opportunity to encourage others to be all that they can be, and we have some wonderful children who make us proud and humble when we see them display their courage and positive attitudes in the face of almost insurmountable odds.
Love in the Mighty name of Jesus
Renie

I am with Judy -- I have looked at this awesome website many, many times and just discovered this page. I love it! It will be fun to see those who can come to the reunion. Hopefully those who cannot will update their profiles. It is great reading about what everyone has done and is doing with their lives since graduation. The In Memory page is very nice. It is sad to read about our classmates who have passed away, but this page is a really nice tribute to them. Many years ago I visited the Viet Nam Wall and found Dick Roundtree and John Bliner's names. The 50's video that Rene' posted is fabulous!! Louie Louie and Money are my favorite songs. Hopefully this site will be up and running until our next reunion and people will keep adding to it.

Just reporting in to say that the 45th reunion was fantastic!! It was great seeing everyone. The covered picnic area was so large that it wasn't crowded and we were all able to just hang out, visit with classmates and teachers, take pictures and look at the memorablia. I thought the memorial presentation for our classmates who have passed away was touching and a wonderful thing to do. The decorations were awesome, the food was delicious (thanks again to Bill Smith for the salmon), the softball game was a lot of fun, the company was great. What more could you ask for?!

Thanks, thanks, thanks to all of you who had a part in putting this on.

I posted a few pics from my trip to South Africa. I am embarrassed at my incompetence as a photographer, and it seems every time I took a pic of a fabulous scene, I screwed it up. Oh well. I would encourage you send $$$ to the Orlando Children's Home in Soweto. You can find them on the web. It is a wonderful place. I may post a few more later.

Off course I remember you....so what is up with you these days? Sounds like you should be enjoying life after all those cardiac issues! I just love this aging crap!..If I ever get over to BI I will try and look you up, and give me a call if you get back to Shelton..... I am not sure they will let me on BI! Sorry to hear you are not running your own restaurant these days, but that is one tough business especially now.....
