May 2008:
After high school I went to Yakima Valley College for 3 years. As you might know, I spent more time running around the track than studying and I fell more than a quarter behind my class so Uncle Sam called. Joined the Air Force and spent some time in Madison, Wisconsin, Tacoma, Washington and Tuy Hoa, Vietnam. I retired after 3.5 years and went to work for a bank in Tacoma (Puget Sound National Bank).
Another bank hired me away to start a mortgage company for them. After a couple of years there the bank sold so I started my own mortgage company. It grew to 115 offices in 23 western states and I sold it in 1996 to a large lender in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
I am now a mortgage banker. I work out of my house and do mostly private money transactions.

Gees George; I knew you were always 'fast and furious' but not that fast and furious. Congratulations on your many accomplishments.

Gary was one of the happiest yet quietest person in our class. He was very docile except on the football field. After each home football game Gary, Bill Smith, Joe Waters and I would somehow come across a case of Olympia beer and proceed to enjoy the libation on the backroads of Shelton, Gary was a little supersticious so we couldn't go near a greveyard at night. He was an enjoyable guy and we had the most fun. He will be missed. RIP Gary.
Rest in Peace Jim. You were a great friend and I have many fond memories of our grade school days at Bordeaux, our week long hike in the Olympics and our high school years. It was your encouragement that gpt me to go into the USAF for which I am forever grateful.
I have known Bill since kindergarten at Bordeaux grade school in Shelton. We went through all of the grades together until junior high when my family briefly lefttown. He was very mild mannered (in fact, I don't remember one time where he lost his temper) and he was a good athlete. We played Pee-Wee baseball together at Loop Field beginning in about the 3rd grade where George Hermes was our "coach". He was also a good basketball player and always won the free throw contests in grade school. We didn't do much together when I returned to Shelton in my sophomore year because I had switched to track.
Bill was always smiling and having fun. I had a great visit with him and Ginny at our reunion at Mason Lake.
Rest in Peace, Bill, you are sorely missed. Bruce Gardner
Well Sammy, you won the race - you beat me into heaven. Congratulations and RIP.
Sam and I worked at competing gas stations in high school. He worked at the Texaco and I worked at the Richfield across the street. We would occasionally have a brew and a couple of times raced up railroad avenue at speedssometimes topping 35 mph - he in his 49 Ford and me in my 50 Chrysler. Neither one of us could beat the other one.
Sam was a great guy!
Paula - you have matured ever so nicely. Good to see your updated pictures....
